    Kelly joined OMAI in August 2013 as an Investment Analyst and then progressed to a Senior Investment Professional within the Education Investing team in October 2017. Since joining the team, Kelly’s work has included leading the execution of some of our most successful education investments within the country’s first and largest education impact fund, the Schools and Education Investment Impact Fund of South Africa (SEIIFSA). Kelly has also been instrumental in the successful launch of SEIIFSA’s successor fund, EduFund, which reached First Close in December 2019.

    Prior to joining Old Mutual Investment Group, she was an Investment Analyst at Catalyst Fund Managers for six years. Kelly has seven years of work experience in Asset Management, specifically listed property investments. CLOSE

    Jon Duncan leads the Responsible Investment Programme at Old Mutual. The Programme is focused on driving the systematic integration of material environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) issues across the Group’s c£320 billion of funds under management. Jon also heads up the Sustainability Research and Engagement function at the Group’s South Africa-based asset manager, Old Mutual Investment Group, where he is involved in industry ESG research, the analysis of green growth opportunities, and engagement on regulatory issues and local industry initiatives, such as the Code for Responsible Investing South Africa (CRISA). Jon was involved in the drafting of CRISA and currently sits on the CRISA committee that drives the application of the Code in South Africa. In 2015, Jon was appointed as Senior Associate of the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, which brings together business, government and academia to find solutions to critical sustainability challenges. www.cisl.cam.ac.uk.

    An engineer by training, with a Master’s degree in Environmental Science, he has over 20 years of professional experience in the field of sustainability research and engagement. He has worked extensively in Africa across a range of sectors supporting organisations with strategic social, environmental and sustainability related issues. Prior to joining Old Mutual Investment Group, Jon worked at Environmental Resource Management as a partner for four years. Before that, he worked at Trialogue as a senior sustainability researcher and consultant. The rest of his working experience comprises similar positions in addition to two directorships.

    Mark joined the team in 2014 as a Quantitative Investment Actuary in order to deepen the Boutique’s quantitative and actuarial skills. He is responsible for overseeing the LDI Actuarial, Quants and Risk team which looks after liability management, quantitative and actuarial analysis, quantitative research, asset-liability risk modeling and LBP optimization and management.

    Mark is experienced in the actuarial valuation of pension and other employee benefit liabilities. Prior to joining LDI, Mark worked at Old Mutual Life Assurance Company developing models to value Old Mutual’s obligations towards guarantees on bespoke investment products. Mark started his career as an actuarial consultant at ARCH Actuarial Consulting where he worked for 3 years.

He is responsible for proxy voting and engagement, representing Old Mutual Investment Group on various industry bodies and championing responsible investment for the OM group.

    Robert’s legal and corporate governance background enables him to bring his knowledge of law and negotiation skills to the fore in promoting clients’ interests.

    Prior to joining the Responsible Investment team, he was a legal advisor at Old Mutual Investment Group for seven years.

    Robert has nine years of work experience in the legal profession and asset management industry.

    Gavin joined Old Mutual Investment Group’s Alternative Investments in May 2015 as an Investment Professional within the Development Impact Funds team, with principal responsibility for the Retirement Accommodation Fund. His primary responsibility is origination, analysis and execution of projects of the fund.

    Gavin’s background in Real Estate Finance and Corporate Banking enables him to bring extensive knowledge of the property industry to new business origination and project analysis.

    Prior to joining Old Mutual Investment Group, he was employed as a Property Finance Manager at Standard Bank in the   Real Estate Finance Division, as well as a Credit Manager in the Corporate Banking Division.

    Gavin has over 15 years of relevant management experience within the property market and financial services industry.

    Nazeem joined Old Mutual Private Equity in February 2015 as an Analyst. He is presently an associate at OMPE and provides investment support across the full private equity value chain.

    Prior to Old Mutual Private Equity, Nazeem was a member of the Corporate Finance team at Old Mutual Emerging Markets where he was involved in Mergers & Acquisitions, Strategic Investments, Disposals and Joint Ventures, BEE transactions, Corporate Restructurings, Capital Raisings, Valuations and Due Diligence.

    He served his articles at EY and is a Chartered Accountant as well as a CFA Charterholder. Nazeem has 7 years of private equity and corporate finance experience.

    Nazeem serves on the boards of Medhold Group and Tourvest (Alternate Director).

    Nabeel joined Old Mutual Investment Group’s Alternative Investments in March 2015 as an Investment Professional within the International Private Equity team. Nabeel’s responsibility is to originate, analyse, execute and manage investments, for the various funds, within the International Private Equity business.

    Nabeel’s experience in entrepreneurship, debt structuring and mergers and acquisitions compliments the current team’s skill set and enables him to focus on critical issues in formulating an investment recommendation.

    Prior to joining Old Mutual Investment Group, Nabeel spent some time as an entrepreneur before joining one of the big four audit firms where he audited some of the largest companies in South Africa. He then went on to gain further experience in investment banking specialised finance, at one of the big four banks, where he was responsible for debt transactions across leveraged finance, project finance and balance sheet lending. After his experience in the debt environment, Nabeel joined the mergers and acquisitions team in Deloitte’s Corporate Finance Advisory business, where he advised on transactions across various industries.

    Nabeel has over 10 years of financial services and operational experience.

As a member of the Africa fund management team, she is responsible for analysing listed companies in French and Arabic speaking African countries (Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia and West Africa), supporting institutional sales team, developing and maintaining relationships with existing clients as well as assisting in the preparation for country visits.

    Prior to joining Old Mutual Investment Group, she was a stockbroker and investment consultant at Sogebourse, the brokerage company of Societe Generale Maroc for three years. Before that, she spent a year as a project manager at the Ministry of Tourism and Craft in Morocco.

He also contributes to MacroSolutions’ overall asset allocation.

    Prior to joining MacroSolutions, Zain was a Fixed Income and Quants Analyst at Old Mutual Investment Group’s fixed income boutique, Futuregrowth Asset Management, for three and a half years.

    Zain has five and a half years of work experience in the fixed income space, spanning buy- and sell-side research and analysis.

He also worked at Deloitte, where he completed his articles. Kayalethu has worked in the asset management industry since 2012.
