    Abdu-Rahman is currently the co-head of asset origination for Old Mutual Specialised Finance (“OMSFIN”).

    Abdu-Rahman is one of the pioneers of OMSFIN having joined the team in 2006. He was previously the Head of Principal Investments for OMSFIN. In that role he conceptualised and successfully built the principal investments business into the significant business it is today.

    Prior to Old Mutual, Abdu-Rahman completed his articles at PwC in Financial Services.

Alida was also the Head of Equity Research at Metropolitan Asset Managers for six years. She started her investment career at Allan Gray in 1994, first as a quantitative analyst and then later an equity analyst.

    Prior to his tenure at OMGxT, he spent five years at SCMB Asset Managers as a unit trust fund manager.

    Prior to joining OMAI, David worked at Group Five Construction for five years as a quantity surveyor on primarily government projects. His time was spent mostly in the tendering and implementation of construction projects managed by the Department of Public Works.

    In 2016 David worked as a researcher focusing on future construction prices for the University of Cape Town. David is currently studying a MPhil in Construction Management and, in his own capacity, operates a social development company with a few partners.

    Before joining Old Mutual Alternative Investments, he was employed by Mettle for six years, managing various departments and projects.The projects included the liquidation of a debtor book securitisation structure and recovery of a home loan debtor book which was in default.Prior to that De Wet did his accounting articles at LDP Inc.

    Denzil joined Old Mutual in 1983, and has held a number of different positions in the investment area. His broad experience has given him a wealth of knowledge across a wide range of investment matters, with one of his responsibilities having been the coordination of asset swap activity. Denzil managed the optimised portfolios of the Fairbairn Capital range and the PP Select Life portfolios since inception until September 2005.     Before joining Old Mutual Investment Group, Ettienne was responsible for the Joint Ventures business of Standard Bank Real Estate Investments in the Western Cape. Prior to Standard Bank, Ettienne was a Key Accounts Manager at ABSA Commercial Property Finance / Barclays Property Finance and an analyst at an unlisted property fund. Before embarking on his career in real estate finance and investment, Ettienne worked as a management consultant.

    Feroz is the boutique head of Global Emerging Markets and is also responsible for managing the Old Mutual Global Emerging Market Fund.
    Prior to setting up Global Emerging Markets, he was a portfolio manager and analyst in the ELECTUS boutique, after joining in February 2012.    
     
    He became portfolio manager of the Old Mutual High Yield Opportunity Fund in 2007 and assisted in implementing a philosophy and process for the Old Mutual High Yield Opportunity Fund and Old Mutual Value Fund. 

    While completing his studies, Feroz joined Old Mutual Unit Trusts in 1998. In 2004, he moved to Old Mutual Investment Group as a trainee analyst.

    With a passion for investments and a flair for numbers, he excelled in analysing both private and listed equities and became an equity analyst responsible for the building and construction, electronics and diversified transport companies.

    Gavin was previously the Head of Strategy and Business Development for OMSFIN.

    Prior to OMSFIN, Gavin occupied several roles at Morgan Stanley’s London office. Gavin spent time in the Group Treasury function overseeing the group’s funding process, managed the Fixed Income Capital team working closely with Credit Risk, before taking on a role as an internal strategic consultant with responsibility for delivering strategic growth initiatives for Morgan Stanley’s European business. Gavin Spent 10 years at Morgan Stanley before returning home to Cape Town and joining the OMSFIN team in 2010.

In addition, Graham is the MacroSolutions’ quantitative strategist, risk manager and a member of the asset allocation group. He is quantitatively driven and adds value through his ability to thoroughly test ideas prior to implementation.

    Prior to joining MacroSolutions, Graham was a quantitative analyst in the Quantitative Research Unit (QRU). There he gained experience in the various risk and data systems within Old Mutual Investment Group, and assisted the team leader with the optimisation procedures for the unit's aggressive equity offering.

    Grant is the Chief Investment Officer of Customised Solutions. This boutique has assets under management in excess of R135 billion. These assets are comprised of both local and global investments across the investment spectrum.

    Grant is involved in driving the boutique investment process, overseeing, the development and implementation of the boutique’s strategies. He manages various portfolios across the hedge fund; equity (local and global); and multi asset class range.

    Grant has 25 years of financial markets experience encompassing managing currency, derivative, hedge fund and multi asset class portfolios.

    Grant began his career in the currency markets, trading currency derivatives on a proprietary basis for one of the large South African banks.

    Grant is a qualified stockbroker and was a co-founder of one of the first hedge funds in South Africa in 1997. He joined Futuregrowth Asset Management in 2004. He headed up their Alternative Investments business. Futuregrowth was acquired by Old Mutual Investment Group in 2008.

    Hywel joined Old Mutual Investment Group in August 2013 and is responsible for the delivery of performance across the listed asset management business. He is key in providing thought leadership to the business as well as nurturing and developing new investment products.

    Hywel has worked in institutional and private client asset management in Europe and the Middle East for over 25 years. He began his investment career at Mercury Asset Management during which the business grew from US$10bn to US$100bn AUM. He then managed the UK and European Equity business for Goldman Sachs, growing external client AUM from US$1bn to over US$12bn, and helping to establish Goldman Sachs Asset Management as a highly regarded asset management operation in Europe.

    He then moved to Morgan Stanley where he managed the asset management equity business in Europe, before moving to become CEO of the Public Equity business of Dubai International Capital, with clients throughout the Middle East. Latterly, Hywel was a founding partner of Integral Asset Management, a boutique wealth management firm.

    He has extensive experience in large cap equity research in both developed and emerging markets, focusing on the industrial sectors. Izak joined Old Mutual Investment Group’s ELECTUS boutique in May 2012.

    Prior to joining Old Mutual Investment Group, Izak worked in AllianceBernstein's Cape Town-based investment research team for nearly nine years. His responsibilities included large cap equity research on emerging markets (EMEA industrials, airlines, homebuilders and utilities) and developed markets (European airlines, homebuilders and utilities).

    His previous experience also includes time at Bank of America Securities in London as a senior analyst in European telecoms; at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ) in London and at PricewaterhouseCoopers, in both their London and Cape Town offices.

    Izak has 15 years' investment-related experience as a global equity analyst, four years of experience in corporate finance, specifically involving valuation consulting in Europe, and a further four years of experience in accounting and auditing.

    He is also actively involved in all the investment decision-making processes, is a member of the OMPE Investment Committee and currently serves on the boards of Actom, Primedia and Consol. Jacci also represents OMPE on the Advisory boards of Carlyle Sub-Saharan African Fund, Ethos V & VI, Actis III and Brait IV.

Jason also previously worked at JP Morgan Equities as an investment strategy analyst and Cadiz Financial Strategists as a quantitative analyst.

    Prior to joining MacroSolutions, John spent nine years as the Investment Strategist at UBS South Africa, where he was responsible for advising South African and global asset managers investing in South Africa. In his last two years at UBS, he was also responsible for the emerging EMEA Equity strategy.

    Prior to that John has worked in similar capacities at investment banks in London. He has 16 years of experience in financial markets and seven years of experience as an economist in public and private sector capacities in Namibia and South Africa.

    Jon Duncan leads the Responsible Investment Programme at Old Mutual. The Programme is focused on driving the systematic integration of material environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) issues across the Group’s c£320 billion of funds under management. Jon also heads up the Sustainability Research and Engagement function at the Group’s South Africa-based asset manager, Old Mutual Investment Group, where he is involved in industry ESG research, the analysis of green growth opportunities, and engagement on regulatory issues and local industry initiatives, such as the Code for Responsible Investing South Africa (CRISA). Jon was involved in the drafting of CRISA and currently sits on the CRISA committee that drives the application of the Code in South Africa. In 2015, Jon was appointed as Senior Associate of the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, which brings together business, government and academia to find solutions to critical sustainability challenges. www.cisl.cam.ac.uk.

    An engineer by training, with a Master’s degree in Environmental Science, he has over 20 years of professional experience in the field of sustainability research and engagement. He has worked extensively in Africa across a range of sectors supporting organisations with strategic social, environmental and sustainability related issues. Prior to joining Old Mutual Investment Group, Jon worked at Environmental Resource Management as a partner for four years. Before that, he worked at Trialogue as a senior sustainability researcher and consultant. The rest of his working experience comprises similar positions in addition to two directorships.

    Khaya previously worked at Investec Asset Management, where he acquired a broad depth of experience, initially as an analyst and portfolio manager and more recently as strategic head of the Quality Capability in South Africa, which incorporates Absolute Return Investing.

    He has also served as an executive member of the Investec Asset Management (Pty) Ltd Board.
