Nigeria: Investment mood is improving

Following a recovery in the oil price and the introduction of a new foreign exchange window in 2017, the investment mood in Nigeria has certainly lifted.

Currency is a strong driver of US dollar returns and, as such, plays a significant role in our investment decisions.  A more stable Nigerian naira makes us quite positive on the country and we have already identified some new opportunities to increase our Nigerian exposure.

In this note, we also discuss the impact of power on the economy – both in terms of electricity supply (or lack thereof) and the upcoming National elections.
