    As Head of Old Mutual Equities, Peter leads Old Mutual Investment Group’s largest team of equity analysts and portfolio managers. Having joined Old Mutual in 1988, he has extensive experience in the asset management industry, including being an equity analyst, portfolio manager, head of equity research and Chief Investment Officer.

    In 2008, Peter established Old Mutual Equities and has managed Old Mutual Investors’ Fund since 2009. He now jointly manages Old Mutual Investors’ Fund and various institutional funds with Jonathan Larcombe, as well as the Pan Africa Fund with Cavan Osborne and Brian Pyle.

    Peter started his career in the financial industry in 1985 at Syfrets Trust.

    Brian has been the portfolio manager of the Old Mutual Industrial Fund since 2012 and, more recently, for the Community Growth Fund (unit trust), together with Peter Linley. 

    He also co-manages the Old Mutual Investors Fund with Peter Linley.

    In addition to his role as portfolio manager, Brian is the assigned analyst of many companies within the consumer and industrial sectors.

    Brian was previously Head of Equity Research, portfolio manager and analyst for small cap mandates. 

    He studied at the University of Natal, and completed articles with KPMG before joining Old Mutual Investment Group as an analyst in 1998.

    Brian has 21 years of investment industry experience.

    In addition to her responsibilities as Head of Research for Old Mutual Equities, Tracy covers SA Insurers and shares in analysing the oil and gas sector. 
     
    She joined Old Mutual Investment Group as an equity analyst in 2001. 

    Prior to joining Old Mutual Equities she was the Sector Head for Financials in the centralised equity research team and managed the Old Mutual Financial Services Fund until 2015. Tracy has 17 years of industry experience.

    David joined Old Mutual Equities in 2014, and is responsible for managing the business operations, product, and the distribution strategy in the institutional market.

    David has been with Old Mutual since 2008. He joined the Old Mutual Emerging Markets (OMEM) finance team and was responsible for management reporting, business planning and quarterly forecasting to the OMEM Executive and Old Mutual plc. He then moved to Old Mutual Investment Group in 2011.  Prior to Old Mutual, David worked in the UK for UBS, Dresdner Bank and Old Mutual plc, before returning to South Africa and joining the financial services team at Ernst & Young.

He has worked across the electricity, mining, stockbroking and emerging market debt sectors in both Johannesburg and London.  Graham has over 34 years of experience in economics and financial analysis.

    A multi-award winning portfolio manager, Ian joined Old Mutual Equities in April 2011 and is responsible for the diversified mining companies and non-mining companies such as steel, forestry and paper.  He is also the portfolio manager for the Old Mutual Mining and Resources Fund (unit trust).

    As a qualified engineer, Ian started his career on the mines, before becoming a mining analyst. He was at Stanlib (then Liberty) for over 11 years. During this time he held several senior positions, including Head of Equities and Head of Research, as well as managing a number of retail and institutional mining and equity funds.

    Jonathan joined the Old Mutual Equities boutique in April 2011. Having managed a number of institutional mandates and retail funds in the past, he now focuses on investment ideas for client portfolios, M&A, Corporate Actions and IPOs. 

    He has 20 years of experience in the financial markets as both a portfolio manager and research analyst.

    Prior to joining Old Mutual Equities, Jonathan was part of Old Mutual’s central equity research team. Prior to that he was a member of Old Mutual Private Equity where he was involved in a number of significant buyouts of South African companies.

    Prior to joining Old Mutual Investment Group, Jonathan qualified as a chartered accountant with Grant Thornton and worked for Credit Suisse in London.

    Prior to joining Old Mutual Equities, Kayalethu was an equity analyst at Vunani Fund Managers for three years. He analysed various companies mainly in the retail and healthcare sectors. He also worked at Deloitte, where he completed his articles. Kayalethu has worked in the asset management industry since 2012.

Since then she has gained extensive experience within the group, having worked within the Asset Allocation team and the Quantitative and Risk unit.  Leanne also headed up the Performance Research Team for six years and was responsible for all performance and attribution reporting within Old Mutual Investment Group.

    Prior to joining Old Mutual Equities, she was a Business Efficiency Manager at ABSA for two years. She also worked at Unilever for five years, where her role included, among others, being a Process Engineering Manager.

    Prior to joining Old Mutual Investment Group, Cavan was an industrial analyst at Credit Suisse Standard Securities for 10 years, during which time he was rated in the Financial Mail Analysts’ survey in six categories.

During this time he led his team to a number of awards for excellence in research, most notably being voted “Best Research House in Sub-Saharan Africa” in the Euromoney Africa Research Survey for three consecutive years.

    Randolph started his career in engineering, before transitioning to finance about 11 years ago. He has 21 years of experience in engineering, mining, finance and investment.

    Sanaa joined Old Mutual Equities in May 2014 as an analyst. As a member of the Africa fund management team, she is responsible for analysing listed companies in French and Arabic speaking African countries (Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia and West Africa), supporting institutional sales team, developing and maintaining relationships with existing clients as well as assisting in the preparation for country visits.

    Prior to joining Old Mutual Investment Group, she was a stockbroker and investment consultant at Sogebourse, the brokerage company of Societe Generale Maroc for three years. Before that, she spent a year as a project manager at the Ministry of Tourism and Craft in Morocco.
