Schools Grant Fund
The Schools Grant Fund, managed by the Development Impact Funds team, is a non-profit company that raises finance for bursaries for underprivileged learners, orphans and vulnerable children that show academic potential.
The children financed by this Fund attend one of the affordable independent schools within the Schools Investment Fund portfolio.
In 2015 the Schools Grant Fund provided bursaries for eight learners attending Prestige Thornview School, Princess Park College and Queens Private School. One bursary matriculant achieved excellent results and won a bursary from Umfundo Trust, an Old Mutual initiative. He is currently studying Bsc Construction Studies at the University of Pretoria.
For 2016, there was remarkable growth in bursary funding raised, and a total of 18 learners could receive bursaries for the year. The learners attend Prestige Thornview, Princess Park College, Queens Private School, Meridian Pinehurst and Protea Glen schools.
In 2017 28 bursaries are being provided to learners at Prestige Thornview, Prestige Crystal Park, Princess Park College, Queens Private School, Royals Alberton, Meridian Pinehurst, Meridian Cosmo City and Protea Glen schools.
It costs between R15 000 to R30 000 a year for a learner to attend our schools. This cost includes fees, transport, uniform, books and meals. You can part-sponsor or fully-sponsor a learner. Ideally, we would value a commitment for the five-year term (Grade 8 – 12) thereby ensuring the learner is able to complete high school.
