    Khaya joined Old Mutual as Managing Director for the Old Mutual Investment Group In January 2018, bringing with him a broad depth of investment experience and a solid track record in portfolio management and as a leader of asset management teams. He previously worked at Investec Asset Management, initially as a portfolio manager on the Investec Growth Fund and then as strategic head for the Quality Capability. His responsibilities included absolute return investing in South Africa and the management of the Africa Public Equity investment team. He has also served as an executive member of the Investec Asset Management (Pty) Ltd Board. Khaya was the founder partner and Chief Investment Officer of Afena Capital for eight years. He received the prestigious 2018 Manager of the Year Award at the Annual Achievement Awards of the Black Management Forum for his exceptional contribution to the advancement of transformation and managerial leadership development in South Africa. He was appointed as the Managing Director of Old Mutual Wealth and Investments with effect from 1 January 2019.

    Khaya graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from WITS University in 1999. Thereafter he became a CFA Charterholder in 2002 and obtained a Master’s degree (by distinction) in Investment Management at CASS Business School City University (London) in 2004.

    Hywel joined Old Mutual Investment Group in August 2013 and is responsible for the delivery of performance across the listed asset management business. He is key in providing thought leadership to the business as well as nurturing and developing new investment product.

    He has worked in institutional and private client asset management in Europe and the Middle East for over 25 years. He began his investment career at Mercury Asset Management during which the business grew from US$10bn to US$100bn AUM. He then managed the UK and European Equity business for Goldman Sachs, growing external client AUM from US$1bn to over US$12bn, and helping to establish Goldman Sachs Asset Management as a highly regarded asset management operation in Europe.

    He then moved to Morgan Stanley where he managed the asset management equity business in Europe, before moving to become CEO of the Public Equity business of Dubai International Capital, with clients throughout the Middle East. Latterly, Hywel was a founding partner of Integral Asset Management, a boutique wealth management firm.

    Hywel holds a Bsc Economics from the University of Bristol.

    Paul has been Head of Alternative Investments since 2004. This business is responsible for the group’s investments in infrastructure, private equity, impact investment and mezzanine debt. He chairs the Alternative Assets Investment Committee and has served on the boards of African Infrastructure Investment Managers, Assore, African Clean Energy Development, CIT, J&J, Life Healthcare, Metcash, Mezzanine Partners, Old Mutual Investment Group, Pepkor, Tourvest and Pembani. He also chaired Green Hands, Old Mutual Investment Group’s Social Development Forum, for 10 years.

    Paul’s entire career has been involved in investment and capital markets. His previous work experience includes serving articles with Deloitte in Johannesburg where he qualified as a chartered accountant. He then spent 7 years as an investment banker at Investec.

    Paul joined Old Mutual in 1995. He spent five years as the Portfolio Manager of the Old Mutual Life Funds (at the time a US$50 billion portfolio and the largest balanced mandate in the country) and three years as Head of Investment Views, formulating the investment house view and model portfolio for Old Mutual Investment Group. Over these periods, the Life Funds and fully discretionary balanced funds, respectively, delivered top quartile performance.

    Paul holds a BCom, BSc (Hons), CA (SA), MBA, FCMA and CGMA qualification.

    Kerrin joined Old Mutual Wealth in July 2015 as Deputy Chief Executive Officer and was appointed as Managing Director in August 2016. Her main objective is to ensure that anyone who chooses Old Mutual Wealth as their financial partner reaches their financial goals. To achieve this, Kerrin together with the Old Mutual Wealth team implement planning tools and industry leading solutions to assist financial planners in guiding their clients on their wealth journey. She is responsible for all clients’ wealth management needs and ensure a holistic financial planning process through a comprehensive range of capabilities, which include advice, fund management, estate planning, unit trusts and bespoke solutions.

    Kerrin is a qualified actuary, seasoned strategist and investment professional. Prior to joining Old Mutual Wealth, she spent 20 years with Old Mutual Investment Group, and played a key role in developing of some of its most innovative offerings. She has held various technical and executive leadership roles within product development, listed investments, marketing, distribution and strategy areas. Kerrin played a significant role in transforming Old Mutual Asset Managers from a large single process investment house to a multi-boutique organisation. She has served as Head of the Listed Investment cluster of boutiques and also held the position of Director of Business Development, Leading Strategy, Operations, Marketing and Kerrin holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Cape Town and is a Fellow of the Actuarial Society of South Africa.

    Bradley is responsible for the strategic development and operational management of the business. He also serves on Old Mutual Investment Group’s Executive Committee. Bradley first joined Old Mutual in 1997. After conceptualising and starting OMSFIN, he left in 2000 to assume the role of Executive Director at Goldman Sachs in London. Three years later he rejoined Old Mutual as Executive Personal Assistant to Roddy Sparks, the then Managing Director of Old Mutual South Africa.

    He holds a Bachelor of Business Science degree and is a qualified CA(SA) and CFA charterholder.

    Mike Willis was appointed as Chief Financial Officer for Old Mutual Wealth and Investments with effect from 1 September 2018.

    He joined Old Mutual in May 2000 as Investor Relations Manager: SA. In 2013 he moved to Old Mutual Wealth as Senior Financial Manager and was promoted to Chief Financial Officer in 2016. Under Mike’s leadership, the Wealth Finance function successfully evolved and he was pivotal in integrating the many legal entities in a highly complex financial environment. In August 2015, Mike’s scope of responsibility was expanded to include the governance portfolio.

    Prior to joining Old Mutual, he was an auditor at Ernst & Young (Cape Town and London), Deloitte & Touche in Tortola and a market risk analyst at Credit Suisse Financial Product in London.

    He holds a Bachelor of Accounting (Honours) and is a Chartered Accountant (SA).

    Farhad Sader was appointed as Chief Operating Officer with effect from 1 September 2016. He is responsible for the strategic direction, management and delivery of all aspects of operations, systems and processes across Old Mutual Wealth and Investments, including implementation of our integrated service strategy.

    Farhad’s previous role as General Manager for Agency Franchise Distribution (AFD), has seen him hone his distribution skills and successfully grow AFD’s footprint by over 25%, contributing over R500 million in sales. In addition, Farhad brought a unique and fresh perspective to AFD and was instrumental in setting up the franchise model for the Mass business, with the number of franchise advisers at an all-time high. Prior to joining AFD, he spent a number of years in various IT, service, operations and strategic roles. This included serving as the Managing Director of Old Mutual Investment Administrators (OMIA).

    He holds a Masters in Business Science (MBusSc) and als completed the INSEAD Leadership Programme for Senior Executives.

    Abeeda Hendry

    Head Of Marketing

    Abeeda is responsible for the marketing and branding strategy of Wealth and Investments. Her main focus will be strengthening and positioning the Wealth and Old Mutual Investment Group brand in the marketplace. She gained extensive experience in business strategy and marketing in the areas of insurance, retail, asset management and banking over the past 15 years.

    Abeeda joins us from Liberty Corporate, where she was the Head of Marketing and Communications. Prior to that, she was with Absa Bank and Sanlam Investment Management. She obtained her BA degree at the University of Cape Town (UCT), and then completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Management at UCT’s Graduate School of Business.

    Abeeda oversees the following areas:

    Marketing and communications functions, including Investments and Digital Marketing Brand, sponsorships and events, including client and distribution channel engagements
    The Design Studio.

    Zulfa joined Old Mutual Investment Group in 2008. She is an Exco member and responsible for the governance functions (Legal, Risk and Compliance).

    Due to the diverse nature of the business, Zulfa has legal, risk and compliance experience in respect of a wide array of financial services providers and is well-versed in all the primary legislation affecting the financial services industry.

    She was previously the Head of Compliance for six years and managed a team of compliance professionals who were tasked to identify, assess, monitor and report on compliance risks facing the organisation and the various individual boutiques. Zulfa acquired her LLB and LLM degrees from the University of Cape Town. She obtained the professional designation of Certified Compliance Practitioner of South Africa (CPrac (SA) through the Compliance Institute of Southern Africa.

    Tracey is tasked with developing and leading investment segment HR strategies and providing specific strategic and consultative deliveries related to people challenges that impact on the investments business. Additionally, she is responsible for identifying the medium and long term capabilities required to drive the business forward, across the functional areas of talent acquisition, learning and development, talent and succession planning, transformation, change management; organisational development, organisation design, culture and values development, leadership development and performance management.

    Tracey pro-actively manages the people-related aspects of risk, regulations, compliance and ethics, and ensure alignment to the overall operating model of the OM Group.

    She joined Old Mutual Investment Group in July 2007, from the OMSA business. Tracey has over 20 years’ experience within the OM Group, and her previous posts included heading up HR function for the Healthcare business, Employee Benefits, Unit Trusts and Corporate Segment areas. She was also Head of Strategy and High Performance for the OM Business School, and held group roles in the areas of organisation, leadership and team development.
